Coat the top end of the pencil with the PVA glue. Start with the small feathers. You will see that feathers have a natural curl, you want these to be curling inwards towards the middleof the pencil, like a closed flower bud. When you have worked your way round, start the next layer, using the largest feathers. These should curl outwards. |

For the last layer, use small feathers again, also curving outwards. Try to keep all of them tidy at the bottom. |
You will probably need to use more glue at this stage. |
Using some of the elastic, start by securing it around the base of the feathers with a knot. Wind it carefully down the pencil until all of the ends are covered neatly and tie it off. |
Peel the sticky backs off the boggly eyes and press firmly onto your new feathered friend! |

You can use sequins, ribbons or any small embellishments to decorate. Standing it in a cup and sticking it with bluetac works just as well. |
