This is a representation of a maze uncovered at Glastonbury Tor in England during the 1960’s, said to have been used as a passage of rites by the pagan druids many centuries ago.
This same symbol wasfound on Merlins castle at Tintagel in Cornwall. It is not just a maze or labyrinth, it is said to be a powerful symbol of protection... An idea that dates back to early
Greek and Roman times and can be found in ancient records as far back as 400 BC.
Even today across England there are many fine
examples of mazes. The tourist information board has lots of leaflets and brochures of places
to visit with mazes.

Many maths equations and geometric patterns have evolved from the humble maze. Mathematicians use the idea that there is always one critical path out of the maze.....(critical path analysis)...this method is used daily to reroute electronic signals round circuit boards or phone lines. Autorouters which are computers that do critical path analysis, have been a massive factor in developing our electronic and IT world as it stands today.
