Salt dough decorations are so easy to make and best of all they are really cheap! All you need is some plain flour, salt and water plus poster/acrylic paints and varnish. It has similar properties to playdough once made and will keep in the fridge in an airtight container for a few days. All you have to do is make your shapes using cookie cutters or clay modelling tools, lay them onto an overnproof sheet and bake them slowly until they are dried. Once they have cooled down, you can begin painting them. You can varnish them later for added airtight seal and to prevent them from going mouldy. This really is a simple and economical way to keep the kids quiet and to make cute gifts for relatives and friends. Tutorial brought to you for free by The Crafty Minx! |
